>A glimpse of my MG Sazabi before weathering…

>

This post shows some of the parts assembled together and is ready for detail painting and weathering. Yes, I will do the decal work last, after the detail painting and weathering I will seal this with a nice gloss coat of future and then decal it.
I won’t detail paint this kit much though, just a few hints of red and some koto parts painting. I do not want it to look like a huge white Christmas tree with small glittery detail painting of greens, blues and reds. I mean, too much detail painting with so much colors is not my type.
Lastly, I just want to keep a few archive photos of this build before weathering… because after weathering this kit might look worse and not as good as how it looks right now. Actually, I could always  just add decals and photoshop the photos and deemed it as finished, but I really want this one weathered.
I also decided against the camo pattern thingee, as I really like how my subtle shading turned out. I am afraid I do not have enough skills to add shading on the camo pattern and it might just ruin the shading of the white areas. Anyways here are a few photos of the build before weathering…

Samuel decals I got from Hobbies Corner last September, bought this set specifically for this build. ๐Ÿ™‚

>Exia ver DC23 – wallpaper

>

click thumbnail to enlarge to 1600 x 1000

Just a quick post while killing time in the office… After doing a new banner of my first ever modified kit ( August 2008 ) which is the 1/60 Exia, I decided to do a quick HD wallpaper of the same kit. Basically I am just experimenting with the new image controls of Photoshop CS5. HDR Toning is a gift from heaven. It is the easiest way to make a crappy looking photo look a bit more interesting. hihi

Feel free to download and use the wallpaper if you like. Thanks for dropping by! Til’ next post! ๐Ÿ˜€

>MG The O ver Tem

>

I just saw this yesterday at our MAC forums and MAC – Facebook. I have been following this WIP coz I have the MG the O as one of my wish list this coming Christmas. The PG SF is wining the poll I have in my sidebar so far, but this kit is a strong candidate for me personally.
The MG The O is being criticized for it’s lack of details for a MG, but with the right modeler it could easilly look like a masterpiece. I now like to present to you the MG The O ver Tem! Russel Hutchison aka Tember Gundam posts his updates regularly at MAC – Facebook and forums, thus it was easy for us to follow the WIP of this build. Tember did a very good job with the rivet holes in particular and the addittional panel lines nailed the coffin!
Tember is starting to really make a mark in the international Gunpla blogging community… with his unorthodox and crazy color schemes, that I think only him can pull off! The orange Sinanju ver Tem is still my favourite in terms of custom color schemes though, but the cannons from the Freedom Gundam incorporated into the O is really extraordinary to say the least.

I highly suggest you visit Russel’s blog for more photos of this build – MG The O ver Tem

>Snow Hangar diorama WIP summary

>

This hangar diorama has so much multiple posts scattered in this blog, I decided to put up a simple summarized version of the build. The build looks simpler and easier in this post and it is a lot more fun to see the progress in a single entry.
Now lets get through the build swifly with some old photos and descriptions of the build…
First, I constructed a hill with some styropor glued together, got a yellow plastic crate as the base, used some pla plates for the walls and floor and used some extra plastic materials like balloon sticks, M&M canisters and some pvc pipes.
My kids helped me apply some paper mache over the styropor hill…

I then applied my usual sand – glue over the hill and painted it with cheap acrylics ( reeves ) and some enamel washes…

I did some details on the Hangar walls using some koto parts and pla-plates… I also scribed some patterns on the hangar floor.
I then bought some 1/100 and 1/200 scale trees at an art shop ( Deovyr ) and placed them on top of the hill / mountain.

More railings and beams were added to the cat walks, at this point the diorama is getting a bit more expensive as more railings are added.

I was running out of pla tubes and rods and I did not want to over – use balloon sticks for the dio, so I resorted to using lollipop sticks.

Succeeding photos shows how the diorama was detailed with more and more beams and railings. The diorama is already expensive at this point. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Decided to prime the dio as it was getting insanely expensive as I add railings and beams. I also added a better looking mountain side coz the original looks like a huge bread with molds on top.

Masked out the mountain side and painted the hangar with Bosny dark grey…
Added some snow effects all over the dio to blend the hangar with the mountain side…

More details will be added and some dirt effects also… will edit this post to add the link of the completed diorama soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

>BANDAI Model Kit World Cup 2010 – Philippine Finals

>

edit: This is a re-post and this post was originally posted last September 9, 2010

Alas!!! The official news form Bankee ( Official Bandai distributor in the Philippines ) has released the flyers and rules for the BANDAI Model Kit World Cup ( BAKWC ) 2010 here in the Philippines. Practically the rules are the same with the previous BAKUCs but with minor alterations here and there.

Unfortunately I have neglected Gunpla for weeks now and I have been into Facebook games as of late. hehe… I would not be surprise if I won’t make it this year. I do hope I get my Gunpla mojo back in time for this annual big stage competition.

I will be joining the Expert category for the first time this year, thus I am not that enthused at all at joining. I do wish that our Filipino modelers that are eligible to join the Junior and Open Category do well in the competition and I sincerely hope that the Philippines will again be represented well at Hong Kong Finals this year.

Afterall, our Junior category representative Eduardo Quirong is last year’s BAKUC finals World Champion 2009!

Anyways here are the rules and the flyer of BAKWC 2010 Philippines as written at bankeepromos.com

>PG Strike Freedom Gundam is poison!

>

This kit is poison! The PG Strike Freedom is winning in my poll in a landslide so far. Honestly, I like the PG 00 Raiser a bit more specially if the 0 Raiser is attached to the mech. However, The PG SF looks like it won’t have any problems holding the wings and displaying them out wide.

I find the foot armors a bit too wide and the torso are a bit too short ( judging from the pics ), but nothing simple extension and re shaping mods could not fix. This is what me and my office mate has been dreaming of since 2008. A PG Freedom or a PG Strike Freedom was only a dream back then.

Anyways, do check out some more photos of the PG Strike Freedom at Gundam Guy

>MG Sazabi WIP – airbrushed!

>

I primed the parts yesterday with Bosny grey primer as usual and let it cure overnight. I immediately painted the exo and vernier parts after waking up early today. I was also able to do dome post shading on the armor parts. However, I ran out of White paint!

I always hate it whenever I ran out of supplies in the middle of work… I painted the white parts with tan, then post shade with black, then I mist coat with flat white. The parts looks a bit grayish still, but I will get paints today and give this a lighter gray coat soon.

I also have to get a secondary color for the camo pattern. I think I will be done painting this by this week and I will be weathering this and putting decals by weekend. One more weekend before Bandai World Cup and I think I will finish on time. Anyways, here are a few photos of the white armor parts with subtle post shading…

Thanks for dropping by! Til’ next update! ๐Ÿ˜€
